Piedmont Mountainside Hospital Celebrates Its Auxiliary

JASPER, Ga. (April 16, 2009) – In recognition of National Healthcare Volunteer Week, April 19-25, Piedmont Mountainside Hospital is congratulating and thanking those of the Piedmont Mountainside Hospital Auxiliary for all of their hard work.

“The dedication and generosity of our Piedmont Mountainside Hospital Auxiliary is unmatched,” said Mike Robertson, president and CEO of Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. “I want to extend my greatest gratitude to Margo Coleman, current president of the Auxiliary, and the rest of the members. They have contributed substantially to this hospital and we would be at a loss without them.”

Over the past year, the Piedmont Mountainside Hospital Auxiliary has purchased mannequins for CPR training, helped fund continuing education opportunities for the Women’s center, coordinated the spring fashion show and luncheon, contributed to the Love Light Tree program, which community members make donations in honor or in memory of loved ones, and provided a number of services and events for the hospital.

“We are happy to serve and contribute to the hospital,” said Margo Coleman, president of the Piedmont Mountainside Auxiliary. “Piedmont Mountainside is a critical part of our lives and our community. I feel it more an honor rather than a duty to give back to a hospital that’s given so much to us.”

Chartered on November 5, 1970, the Auxiliary has made many contributions to the hospital over the years. Its primary goal is to give financial support to the hospital to enhance the care of patients.  The PMH Auxiliary has contributed items such as a gift kits and caps for newborns;    admission kits to all new patients admitted to hospital; stuffed animals for children in the Emergency Department and Lab Area; Sox for Warm Feet Fund; Men’s Breakfast; and baskets of apples and brownies for Doctor’s Day.
